Huber Heights Police Division & Huber Heights City Schools
were awarded the
"Ohio Safe Schools Initiative Award" for 2004.
The award was for the efforts of the School Resource Officer Program and the
Warriors Crime Watch program
and their crime prevention efforts in the schools and the community.

Huber Heights Chamber of Commerce 2004
Officer Brown, Officer Neil, Crime Watch President Stephanie Crace,
and the rest of the Warriors Crime Watch
students were given the honor of being the
Grand Marshals for
the Huber Heights 4th of July Parade.
Officers Neil & Brown receive the National SRO Model Agency Award from John
Kotner, the President of the National Association of School Resource Officers
(NASRO). Only a handful of SRO programs in the nation have received this honor,
and Huber Heights is the first from Ohio. The plaque Officer Brown is holding
reads:

"National Association of School Resource Officers, Model SRO Agency Award is
presented to the Huber Heights Police Division, Ohio, for your continued support
of the School Resource Officer Program and in recognition of being recognized
as a Model SRO Program throughout the United State of America. Presented this
11th day of July, 2005 in Dallas, Texas."

This award is for the exceptional work of the Huber Heights SROs and the students
of the Warriors Crime Watch program. We must also give thanks to the Huber
Heights Police Division and the Huber Heights City Schools for their partnership to
keep kids safe at school.

The award was presented at the National Association of School Resource Officers
Conference in Dallas, Texas. NASRO has over 13,000 members from across the
nation. All of them will now look to Huber Heights as a model to follow.
Officers Brown and Neil accept the "2005 Organization of
the Year" award for the "Warriors School Resource Officer
Program". Pat Stevens, the Executive Director of the
Huber Heights Chamber of Commerce, presented the
award after the SROs were selected by the awards
committee. We would like to thank the students in the
Warriors Crime Watch, our business partners, and our
wonderful community that make the SRO Program so
effective and possible.
